Year End Points Points shall be scored as follows: (1st=20), (2nd=16), (3rd=13), (4th=11), (5th =9), (6th=7), (7th=6), then 5,4,3,2,1. For the purpose of calculating year end points we will drop your lowest scoring events in a ratio of one out of every six events. You must attend a minimum of six Las Vegas region events in any competition year to qualify for a Year End Award. You must be a member of LVR to qualify for points accumulation. New members must become a member of SCCA by July 1 st , 2004 in order to "pick up" points for earlier rounds. Secondary membership in Las Vegas region qualifies for points accumulation. Both Class and Top Ten awards shall be scored as stated above. Las Vegas Region members may get “credit” from attending a national or divisional Solo2 event that is held on the same day as a LVR Solo2 event for year end points in that class. Drivers must request “credit” to the points keeper and will receive points for that day equivalent to the points earned based on their standing at the national or divisional event attended. Drivers may not get “credit” for attending other regional competitions, nor may they request points to be allocated in a different class. These “credits” do not count toward the six event minimum required to be eligible for a year end award. Ex: If someone placed 2 nd in HS at a Solo2 national event that was held on the same day as a LVR Solo2 event, that person may request 16 points credited in HS for that regional event. Walking and Previewing the Course Participants are allowed to ride along with another competitor regardless of whether their competition runs have been completed or not. Participants are not allowed to use any wheeled vehicle to walk the course. Special dispensation is considered for people who have a medical condition which requires the use of a vehicle to “walk the course”. Requests for special dispensation must be made in writing and approved by the Las Vegas Region SCCA board of directors prior to the event. Karts at Events All SCCA recognized karts are allowed to participate pending course approval as stated in the 2004 rulebook. All karts must adhere to guidelines posted in Appendix G and Appendix H of the 2004 rulebook. In addition to guidelines set in the 2004 rulebook, karts may drive under their own power between grid/impound and the paddock providing approval by the safety steward prior to the event and will be announced at the drivers meeting. There will be a designated grid for all karts in participation. All other vehicles are prohibited from entering the kart grid area. Karts are to be run on course only when all other vehicles are off course, no exceptions. A Jr. drivers meeting must be held immediately after the normal drivers meeting. The Jr. drivers meeting will be run by the Jr driver steward or an assigned solo2 safety steward. All drivers in a FJr class are required to attend the Jr. drivers meeting along with the FJr drivers parent or guardian. |
